About My Debstinations
My Debstinations originally began as a personal blog titled “A Hobbit’s Tale” in early 2013 to chronicle my first travels when I moved from California to New Zealand.
In 2020, I decided to rebrand the blog as a punny, storytelling space for my travels to various destinations around the world. My Debstinations was launched with a repurposed vision and became my full-time career and business. In just a few months, my social media reach across 6 platforms grew to 250k+. I’m intent on continuing to spread my lifelong love of travel coupled with my passion for female empowerment & equality through all communities.
Through the course of various travel-related jobs and living in four countries, I’ve seen 75 countries and 6 continents (including Antarctica).
The purpose of this travel blog is to educate and inspire readers. Since my main focus is solo female travel, I also seek to empower fellow women who want to take more risks in life: those who “feel the fear and do it anyway.”
Additionally, as a Japanese-American, I’m passionate about breaking down any barriers of Asian representation in the travel and tourism industry.
On My Debstinations, you’ll read content on outdoor adventure, hikes, Disney parks guides, and destination guides that are all based on my personal experiences and opinions. I share my authentic, real struggles and candid thoughts on mental health awareness in relation to travel, because I’ve found that my personal stories are what set me apart from thousands of other bloggers.
I strongly believe that vulnerability is the equivalent of authenticity, which is something that many blogs lack. I’m not afraid of sharing my misadventures, close calls with death, and the raw sides of solo travel, mainly to educate others and provide my honest, unfiltered opinions.
