When I hear the city name Encinitas, my heart immediately jumps. For one, it’s the location of the Nixon headquarters. Nixon, for those who don’t know, is a youth lifestyle brand renowned for its beautiful watches, and it’s basically the only “brand” I actually truly love (so much that I have Nixon stickers proudly displayed on just about every item I own).
Although the HQ aren’t a store itself (unlike the beautiful yet small Melbourne store), it’s still cool to visit. And let’s be real, I like pretending that I give off the cool surfer/skateboarder vibe when I wear Nixon stuff.
Also, Encinitas is a sleeper-type surf town just before San Diego that reminds me of Isla Vista, my old stomping grounds in college. To me, there’s nothing better than a chill, laid-back beach town.
The beach is beautiful, not nearly as crowded as anything in SD, and there are a few boutique/surf shops scattered about in the city.
I’ve only been to the city twice, but I’m blown away by how much I enjoy my time there as opposed to other overcrowded beach cities in the rest of California. Encinitas, you’re awesome – cheers to your beautiful city.
